SUBMIT NOT TO EVERY ORDINANCE OF MAN!  notes

1Pe 2:13 Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord's sake: whether it be to the king, as supreme;

1Pe 2:14 Or unto governors, as unto them that are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers, and for the praise of them that do well.

1Pe 2:15 For so is the will of God, that with well doing you may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men:

1Pe 2:16 As free, and not using your liberty for a cloak of maliciousness, but as the servants of God. (KJV)

These verses make it sound that Peter is telling every Christian to bow to every ordinance of man and if they do not they are evil doers, bad examples and malicious.

Did Peter submit to every ordinance of man?

no!

Ac 4:19 But Peter and John answered and said unto them, (Annas and Caiaphas) Whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken unto you more than unto God, judge you.

Annas and Caiaphas were authority of man, especially appointed by as Jewish leader, so why is Peter disrespecting?

Ac 12:4 And when Herod had apprehended Peter, he put him in prison, and delivered him to four quaternions of soldiers to keep him; intending after Easter to bring him forth to the people. (KJV)

Why did Herod take Peter prisoner? Because Herod had taken James the Apostle, had James killed because James wouldn't submit to not preaching Christ, so killed. and Herod went after Peter next.

With all scripture, it all has to be balanced by the whole Bible.

Peter wasn't canoned for 200 years more, so wasn't even considered scripture, but was considered authoritative to the saints.

Does N.T. over ride O.T.?

no N.T. is O.T. revealed,

Paul wrote:

2Ti 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

2Ti 3:17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

(KJV)

So Peters words have to be considered by all scripture.

So what is the whole counsel of God?

where do we start? Genesis

What was the command of God to man?

Ge 1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth.

Ge 1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

Ge 1:28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moves upon the earth. (KJV)

What does it mean to subdue and have dominion?

subdue means to move forward and take

Dominion means to control.

This about husbandry,

1. subdue the ground,

2. secure the soil, prep it for fruit

3. plant, nurture, protect the fruit,

4. bring forth the fruit for life.

Does subdue and have dominion also include wife, & children?

yes, this is part of nurturing and raising up children to proper order and to be good before God.

does subdue and have dominion have to do with sin.

yes, Adam and eve had 2 sons, they both brought an offering before God.

Ge 4:4 And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof.

And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering:

Ge 4:5 But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell.

Ge 4:6 And the LORD said unto Cain, Why are you wroth? and why is your countenance fallen?

Ge 4:7 If you do well, shall you not be accepted? and if you do not well, sin lies at the door. And unto you shall be his desire, and you shall rule over him. (KJV)

Who had subdued and had dominion?

Abel had control to do right before the Lord.

What does Cain need to do? subdue and have dominion over the sin nature.

Ge 6:5 And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. (KJV)

Is man subduing and having dominion?

No!

Ge 6:8 But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD. (KJV)

What is grace?

unmerited favor

Why Noah and family?

Ge 6:13 And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.

Ge 6:14 Make you an ark of gopher wood; rooms shall thou make in the ark, and shall pitch it within and without with pitch. (KJV)

Did Noah believe God? why do you know?

because he built the ark as commanded. an act of faith

Ge 9:5 And surely your blood of your lives will I require; at the hand of every beast will I require it, and at the hand of man; at the hand of every

man's brother will I require the life of man.

Ge 9:6 Whoso sheds man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man.

Ge 9:7 And you, be you fruitful, and multiply; bring forth abundantly in the earth, and multiply therein. (KJV)

Now God is having to explain to Noah what he meant by subdue and have dominion.

It included gov't over sin, evil, and tyranny as stated in Gen 6 killing, and being tyrants, which comes from the word giants.

So Noah was to establish Gov't which would subdue and have dominion over man to live by God's righteous order.

Why did God destroy Babel, Sodom and Gomorrah?

Because they did not respond to Gods righteous order, to disperse, and live Gods righteous order.

Is disobedience, homosexuality and flaunting it in God's face righteousness?

no

Why did God deliver Israel out of the hands of Egypt?

Because Egypt was a tyrant nation and enslaved God's people Israel?

Why did God give the law?

so Israel would know the righteous order of man, to subdue and have dominion of the land which God was giving them?

Why was God using man to subdue and have dominion over Amorites, Canaanites etc?

because their sins were full and so defiled they must be destroyed, every man, woman and child.

they practiced homosexuality, trans, idolatry worship, orgies, incest, injustice, murder babies, indoctrinate children to evil.

Did God command to destroy all gentile nations from there?

no

God says.

De 20:10 When you come near unto a city to fight against it, then proclaim peace unto it.

De 20:11 And it shall be, if it make you answer of peace, and open unto you, then it shall be, that all the people that is found therein shall be tributaries unto you, and they shall serve you.

De 20:12 And if it will make no peace with you, but will make war against you, then you shall besiege it:

De 20:13 And when the LORD your God has delivered it into your hands, you shall smite every male thereof with the edge of the sword:

De 20:14 But the women, and the little ones, and the cattle, and all that is in the city, even all the spoil thereof, shall you take unto yourself; and you shall eat the spoil of your enemies, which the LORD your God has given you.

De 20:15 Thus shall you do unto all the cities which are very far off from you, which are not of the cities of these nations. (KJV) (Amorites, Canaanites etc.

God is giving the command with his authority to subdue and have dominion over their enemies.

De 20:1 When you go out to battle against your enemies, and see horses, and chariots, and a people more than you, be not afraid of them: for the LORD your God is with you, which brought you up out of the land of Egypt.

De 20:2 And it shall be, when you are come near unto the battle, that the priest shall approach and speak unto the people,

De 20:3 And shall say unto them, Hear, O Israel, you approach this day unto battle against your enemies: let not your hearts faint, fear not, and do not tremble, neither be you terrified because of them;

De 20:4 For the LORD your God is he that goes with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you. (KJV)

I wonder if David moved by the Spirit of God recalled these words when Goliath spoke words of Evil against Gods people Israel.

This certainly is applicable to Gods command to Joshua,

Jos 1:6 Be strong and of a good courage: for unto this people shall you divide for an inheritance the land, which I swore unto their fathers to give them.

Jos 1:7 Only be you strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded you: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper whithersoever you go. (KJV)

This means do not let empathy to manipulate the righteous demand of God and do justice properly.

Why did God give Israel prophets?

So the people would subdue and have dominion over sin, idols and disobedience.

Not to become Apostate Israel.

God doesn't destroy or divorce? because God made a promise to whom? Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

What does God say to Israel going to Babylon?

Jer 29:4 Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, unto all that are carried away captives, whom I have caused to be

carried away from Jerusalem unto Babylon;

Jer 29:5 Build you houses, and dwell in them; and plant gardens, and eat the fruit of them;

Jer 29:6 Take you wives, and beget sons and daughters; and take wives for your sons, and give your daughters to husbands, that they may bear sons and daughters; that you may be increased there, and not diminished.

Jer 29:7 And seek the peace of the city where I have caused you to be carried away captives, and pray unto the LORD for it: for in the peace thereof shall you have peace.

Jer 29:8 For thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Let not your prophets and your diviners, that be in the midst of you, deceive you, neither hearken to your dreams which you cause to be dreamed.

Jer 29:9 For they prophesy falsely unto you in my name: I have not sent them, says the LORD. (KJV)

these are verses drilled into Peters mind as a child, and thinks about when writing 1 Peter 2

Jeremiah is telling Israel in captivity to obey, find peace,

But what does Daniel prophesy, before it happens and God gives them the victory?

Da 11:32 And those Apostate Jews against the covenant shall Antiochus Epiphanies, who defiled the Temple, corrupts by flatteries and greed: but the people that know their God Matthias Maccabees and his 5 sons shall be strong and do great exploits with a revolt,

Matthias dies 166, and the 3rd son Judas Maccabees shall lead with those dedicated to God and shall revolt, win the battle against Antiochus IV army in Jerusalem, take back the temple and then cleanse it leading to the Jewish holiday Hanukah 164 B.C.

how did Matthias know Antiochus was wrong and to battle to restore temple?

Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah disobeyed Babylonian law, found favor not to eat unclean foods,

wouldn't bow to idol, and God saved

wouldn't pray to a false gods and Daniel saved from lions

What did Nebuchadnezzar and Darius say concerning God and his authority?

Da 2:47 The king answered unto Daniel, and said, Of a truth it is, that your God is a God of gods, and a Lord of kings, and a revealer of secrets, seeing you could reveal this secret.

Da 3:28 Then Nebuchadnezzar spoke, and said, Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who has sent his angel, and delivered his servants that trusted in him, and have changed the king's word, and yielded their bodies, that they might not serve nor worship any god, except their own God.

Da 3:29 Therefore I make a decree, That every people, nation, and language, which speak anything amiss against the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, shall be cut in pieces, and their houses shall be made a dunghill: because there is no other God that can deliver after this sort.

Darius says something very similar that Gods word is above theirs or law of land.

Da 6:25 Then king Darius wrote unto all people, nations, and languages, that dwell in all the earth; Peace be multiplied unto you.

Da 6:26 I make a decree, That in every dominion of my kingdom men tremble and fear before the God of Daniel: for he is the living God, and steadfast forever, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed, and his dominion shall be even unto the end.

Da 6:27 He delivers and rescues, and he works signs and wonders in heaven and in earth, who has delivered Daniel from the power of the lions.

Remember these kings believed in polytheism or multiple gods and were affected by one God.

Listen to more words of Nebuchadnezzar

Da 4:1 Nebuchadnezzar the king, unto all people, nations, and languages, that dwell in all the earth; Peace be multiplied unto you.

Da 4:2 I thought it good to show the signs and wonders that the high God has wrought toward me.

Grace and mercy,

Da 4:3 How great are his signs! and how mighty are his wonders! his kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and his dominion is from generation to generation.

Da 4:33 The same hour was the thing fulfilled upon Nebuchadnezzar: and he was driven from men, and did eat grass as oxen, and his body was wet with the dew of heaven, till his hairs were grown like eagles' feathers, and his nails like birds' claws.

Da 4:34 And at the end of the days I Nebuchadnezzar lifted up mine eyes unto heaven, and mine understanding returned unto me, and I blessed the most High, and I praised and honored him that lives forever, whose dominion is an everlasting dominion, and his kingdom is from generation to generation:

Da 4:35 And all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing: and he does according to his will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth: and none can stay his hand, or say unto him, What do you?

Da 4:36 At the same time my reason returned unto me; and for the glory of my kingdom, mine honor and brightness returned unto me; and my counselors and my lords sought unto me; and I was established in my kingdom, and excellent majesty was added unto me.

Da 4:37 Now I Nebuchadnezzar praise and extol and honor the King of heaven, all whose works are truth, and his ways judgment: and those that walk in pride he is able to abase.

It is the scriptures, Israel and gentile kings confirming Gods righteous order over rules man, and that is why People which didn't have the law or Bible created in the image of God with conscience didn't obey unjust laws.

two midwives lied to Pharaoh concerning the births of Jewish woman and God blessed them with children. Exodus 1

Rahab lied to Jericho authorities concerning the whereabouts of the Jewish spies come into investigate Jericho to destroy.

Rahab probably heard all the stories of Israel in the desert and the miracles and realized the true and living God and the people He favors.

Was Annas and Caiaphas the high priest in Israel wrong in having Jesus condemned to death?

No! Why?

because they believed Jesus blasphemed God with making God his Father and equal with God as the Son.

yes they brought in liars, to justify crucificixion

but they misunderstood his words of destroy this temple and in 3 days, I will raise it up.

Deuteronomy 13 and 18 would have condemned Jesus if it wasn't for the fact that His word came true,

But because Jews couldn't enforce death, they went to Pilate.

So what is Peter talking about,

do good, be an example, use discernment, fruit of the Spirit and obey all JUST gov't laws, but this doesn't mean over Gods law of order, nature, or to allow you not to do good, because the law stops you. Law is a guide, but meant to be broken if for good, outweighs the evil

Speed limit is good, but if must to save life, speed is broken with caution to save.

killing is wrong, even war, but killing to stop evil is good. to stop unjust tyrannical Gov't, slavery, yes,

what about innocent unborn babies?

Is our gov't tyrannical?

Yes,

What law do we have which allows uprising, coup, vigilante,

Constitutional Amendment 2,

"A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed."

Under what foundation document? Declaration of Independence.

the two documents are inseparable

The removing of the preface of the Declaration is how tyrant dictate rights over the people rather than natures God, Supreme Judge, and Divine protector

This shouldn't be the heart to have to kill or destroy but if you do not, we are allowing our own self-destruction. God sent prophets to make Israel know their demise but Israel refused to depart from their evil. So they chose death rather than life.

You see the answer in how to rectify our tyrant nation in Deuteronomy 20 and Judges 19-21 as the people can do a siege declaring the unjust actions, bring out the perpetrators and if not siege it, do not allow anything in or out, until they comply.

But as a people are we established as the founders bound to natures God, Supreme Judge and Divine protector, even if we have fortitude and resolve, are we like Joshua and Caleb or the ten spies, in rejection and denial of Gods command to subdue and have dominion of the earth and bring righteous order to it.

If history is watching, the Ancient of days, let us not be on the wrong side and lokk for ways not to stop evil.

This is how we should have corrected the nation

How to restore a nation?

1. petition for correction, as talking to your child about the dangers drugs and alcohol, and if becoming influenced, you

speak to them the consequences.

2. if become addicted, you do not give them the means to self-destruction, money, food and such

3. An intervention: take control of them and wean them from the addiction, like putting them into prison so to teach the joy of proper structure of discipline or Subdue and dominion: siege, boycotts, truckers not working, not going to work, not paying taxes, Unions and organizations have used tactics like this for evil, yet Jesus said, "be wise like serpent but gentle as dove" we are not wise, only gentle to our own demise. is spanking gentle?

4. Divorce; this can be used to discipline the spouse or nation to change, like what God said through Hosea, Gods right to divorce for Israels addiction to sin. This is the Declaration of Independence of the United States of America.

5. Then you stand on the righteousness of God, to defend those children or people in which you are inauthority to protect. This is what Joshua and the Founding Fathers did.

But they didn't make the first shot, defend allow the attack and then defend and go on offensive, and make aware peace is acceptable in surrender to right reform.
